Well-made, reasonably priced Zin was once a staple of the local wine scene, and these days there is simply not enough of the stuff to be had. Here, however, is just such a wine. It is long on berry-like qualities and has a good sense of weight, and its fine sense of fruity volume shames many bottlings that check in with much higher prices. Bright ruby-red. Blueberry, menthol and spice on the nose. Juicy and high-toned in the mouth, with a sweet flavor of blackberry pie. This boasts strong fruit and a firm tannic spine. A very good showing.
