The 2003 Aalto PS is purple/black with an unusually expressive nose for this hot vintage. It reveals smoke, toast, vanilla spice, blueberry, and blackberry jam. This is followed by a fleshy wine with excellent depth and full-body.

Immense weight of black and red fruit, hints of ink and tar but also floral overtones, and a touch of beefstock. Satiny, perfectly integrated new oak, supported by a strong frame of ripe tannins, lower acidity, and impeccable balance. Elegant, velvety extract, amazing length, with a slightly port-like finish.
