A 2002 vintage synonymous with richness and generosity

(NV Vintage) Pale color. A real primal scream of a nose, with very subtle, musky aromas of lemon custard, chlorophyll, wintermint and white truffle; a bit Chablis-like. High-pitched and precise on entry, then surprisingly supple in the middle. Then impressively incisive again on the back end, finishing with terrific building length and a distinct lemony, stony austerity. Very classy Champagne
  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(NV Vintage) This blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir impressed us for its precise, incisive and expansive aromas of aged yeast, citrus and biscuits. It suggests age yet has the vitality of youth, and its tiny bubbles and creamy, rich deep flavors project the wine to the upper reaches of the list in its current iteration. It may be that others get the publicity and enjoy greater cachet, but this wine clearly belongs in the club.
