Our Winemaker believes this to be one of the best oyster wines in the world although the wine is extraordinarily versatile. Complementing a wide variety of seafood, poultry and duck it also pairs surprisingly well with filet mignon, steak tartare and Asian dishes. (hide)

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
70% Pinot Noir; 30% Chardonnay. Subtle suggestions of chalk and stony soils join mildly citrusy fruit and attractive touches of toast in the keenly composed aromas here, while fruit gets a bit of a boost in the wine's creamy, yeast-accented flavors. If never a dramatic wine, it is well-proportioned and sports a particularly fine mousse, and its mix of precision and polish makes it one of the best basic Bruts to be found.

Rating: 5/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Since I recommended this one last year it has continued to develop and improve. Still delicately textured with floral aromas to the fore, it's a soft, feminine style of rosé with light red berry fruit and an engagingly creamy mousse.
