Clos Saint Martin Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

Wine Description

(2008 Vintage) The 20 hectares vineyards create a unique expression of Saint-Emilion. The care taken in cultivating the soil, pruning the vines, hand picking, and sorting the grapes, defines the quality of this splendid blend. The average grape blend of the Merlot (65%) and Cabernet Franc (35%) varieties produces a delicate and elegant wine that is among the most sought-after in the Saint-Emilion region.

medium-bodied, round and smooth tannin, easy to drink with ripe fruit, typical French merlot but lack of complexity, served quite well with Chinese banquet. with similar price, I prefer brane 2nd wine. used for Favian's 60days banquet

(1999 Vintage) "Ruby-red. Slightly high-toned aromas of currant, blackberry, roast coffee and grilled meat. Plummy and ripe, with good stuffing and balance. Finishes with ripe, dusty tannins and good length."
