Château Coutet Barsac Premier Cru Classé

Wine Details

Wine Description

(2013 Vintage) Straw color (still in barrel), the nose has lovely aromatic notes of tropical fruit, such as lychee, mango, and pineapple, followed by aromas of quince, toasted almonds and acacia flowers. The palate is round and smooth with a good balance between freshness and fullness. This wine distinguishes itself by a good density and remarkable finesse. The finish is long, with its vivacity and its power. Overall, this vintage is marked by its elegance.

Pale yellow. Sexy aromas of peach, honey and creme brulee , with lovely floral lift. Fat, impressively sweet and fruit-driven, with concentrated, rather powerful peach and pear flavors. Finishes spicy and broad, with echoing flavors of fruit salad, menthol and caramel. A very rich Coutet that will need time to absorb its alcohol.

Rating: 5/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Brilliant: elegant oaky aromas with lovely apricot fruit. This is unusually creamy and voluptuous, but has a firm backbone of acidity and exceptional length. Drink 2008-25.
