(2002 Vintage) Bright ruby. Smoky, floral-accented aromas of redcurrant, cherry pit and plum, with a peppery topnote. Sweet and open-knit, offering musky red fruit and floral pastille flavors and notes of mocha and succulent herbs. Shows very good depth and power for the vintage, finishing smooth, sweet and long. Not the greatest Vega by any means but highly successful for 2002.
(2002 Vintage) Profound fruit bouquet of dried fruit, black elderberry and ginger bread reminiscent, subtle notes of honey woods behind it. Velvety texture and complex forest berry fruit in delicate creamy palate, reminiscent of big Richebourg, malty extract and wonderful fruit freshness in the elegant center, jelly-like fruit of currants, juniper and canned cherries reminiscent, accompanied by sweet tobacco and cinnamon chocolate, much nobility to the minute-long lingering final.
