The clean acid and mineral texture of Awatere valley fruit harmonises well with the more sumptuous weight of the Wairau components. Suggested Foods: Summer salads, poultry and seafood.

International Wine Cellar(2007 Vintage) Bright, pale straw. Knockout nose combines lemon, lime, pear, melon, flowers, licorice and jalapeno, with a spicy ginger quality emerging with air. Then deep and fresh on the palate, with juicy pineapple and grapefruit flavors complicated by a hint of crystallized citrus peel. There's an element of varietally typical herbaceousness but this wine is ripe, balanced and long.
