Wine Description

A deep nose of plum, bing cherry and orange blossom leaps from the glass and is the perfect prelude to a layered and complex palate filled with cherry, truffle and pepper. The wine finishes long with elegant structure and intensity highlighted with briar and deep truffle notes.

(2005 Vintage) Rating: 88/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 132, May/June 2007. ($45) Medium red. Jammy raspberry and cola aromas complicated by mocha, red licorice and an exotic hint of peach pit. Sweet and velvety in the mouth, with creamy raspberry and plum preserve flavors and good heft. The weighty, round finish features a clingy red fruit preserve quality. I'd opt for drinking this on the young side.

(2004 Vintage) Rating: 87/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 126, May/June 2006 ($32; from a blend of four vineyards, two of which are in Green Valley) Good deep red. Aromas of raspberry, strawberry and cinnamon. Supple, spicy and aromatic in the mouth, with enticing sweetness but slightly drying oak tannins. Could use a bit more vibrancy.
