(From 2015 Vintage) These grapes were selected from vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley and the neighbouring Awatere Valley. Fast draining, alluvial loams over gravelly subsoils in these valleys provide ideal growing conditions for our Sauvignon Blanc. Individual blocks were targeted for their strengths and overall contribution to the blend. The vines ranged in age, up to 14 years, bringing a mix of youthful vigour and depth of flavour.
Color: Pale straw with touches of green. Aroma: Dominated by classic red capsicum, passion fruit and Cape gooseberry nose, supported with a hint of lime and a subtle herbaceousness. Palate: Intense ripe Sauvignon Blanc dominates. A full-flavored style with great balance and longevity. This is a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from a good vintage; a wine to drink now but which, with careful cellaring, will last up to five years.
