(From 2011 Vintage) From a wonderfully abundant vintage with exceptional quality, this Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of all five Bordeaux varietals carefully selected from 20+ vineyards across the Napa Valley. With great complexity, our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon expresses aromas of fresh boysenberry, blackberry pie, Bing cherry, and cocoa-dusted chocolate berry truffle, all integrated with the spicy sweetness of oak, cedar, cinnamon, clove and a hint of black pepper. With dark cherry and berry flavors from start to finish, this Cabernet is full-bodied, rich and opulent.
The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark ruby color. In the nose, there are nuances of dark cherry and nicely-integrated oak with a background of black currant and cassis. Very fruitful entry, crisp, with a long finish, this wine promises a long life of enjoyment.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines13% Merlot; 7% Cabernet Franc; 4% Petit Verdot. While we find no fault with this bottling's very proper varietal themes of cherries, oak and herbs, the one wants for more volume, more range and more overall intensity to be much more than a clean but somewhat hollowed-out wine.
