(From 2011 Vintage) In 2009 we made our first prototype of our Estate Brut and we were so pleased with this cuvée that we committed to produce it on an ongoing basis exclusively for our Wine Club members and winery guests.
This superb, handcrafted sparkling wine, immediately reminiscent of the Taittinger style, is marked by an exceptional refinement and finesse. Its brilliant straw gold color is punctuated by strands of persistent, pinpoint bubbles. The subtle, ripe fruit richness of the Pinot Noir is balanced by the elegant depth and structure of the Chardonnay, converging in notes of toast and vanilla which linger in the extended finish.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California WinesFresh, mildly creamy yeast overlies elements of lemon and pear in the quiet, slightly sweet-leaning nose of this fairly rich wine, and much of the same can be said of its well-mannered, very slightly fruity flavors. At the sweeter end of the scale for a Brut, it is gentle and foamy in feel, and should be right at home as a mealtime companion to a wide range of minimally spiced Thai and South Asian seafood dishes.
