(2013 Vintage) The 2014 Carneros Estate Pinot Noir intrigues with its rich array of red cherry, wild strawberry, pomegranate raspberry and spice. The core of red fruit is made complex with layers of sassafras, sandalwood and baking spice that build in intensity through the finish. With an opulent mouthfeel and ideal natural acidity, the wine has significant substance and depth, yet stays lively and lifting throughout.
International Wine CellarDeep red. Nose like a berry cocktail, with a liqueur-like, chocolatey character and a smoky nuance. A step up in sweetness from the regular bottling; lush, substantial and impressively mouthfilling. Also longer and sweeter on the back end, with substantial ripe tannins giving the wine a firmer shape. This wine should offer terrific early appeal when it's released next March.
