Wine Description

(2011 Vintage) Offering up layers of black raspberry, powdered rock, chocolate, roasted meats and graphite, it flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness, solid mid-palate depth and masses of fine tannin that are sweet and polished.

Splurge wine. This was fantastic and epitomizes syrah. Complex nose of dark fruits, minerals, game, herbs and bramble. Perfectly balanced with a complex, sharp finish. Pairs well with simple red meat preparations, pizza, salumi, lightly sauces pastas. Buy if you find. Will end up on your list of memorable wine experiences.

Rating: 93/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar. Medium-deep red-ruby. Roasted, tarry red fruits, animal fur and chocolate on the nose; as vibrant and vinous as a barrel sample. Extremely lush and concentrated, and already highly aromatic in the mouth, with notes of red and black fruits, roasted nuts, spices, chocolate and tobacco. Beautifully integrated acidity. Finishes very long, with substantial, very fine tannins. A superb vintage for this top Hermitage bottling.
