(2008 Vintage) This Chianti Classico comes from the continuous research of the diversity in our vineyards; the 50 different parcels that compose this wine have been vinified without any pumps, and aged separately in the new Fonterutoli cellar.
Wine & SpiritsThe 2000 Chianti Classico Castello di Fonterutoli, effectively speaking the Riserva bottling even if the house chooses not to call it such, is darker and blacker in color and with a notably more sizable and expansive nose which features graphite and tar along with its berry fruit. The flavors are solid and well sustained, but the slightly dryish tannins on the close, coupled with a higher than usual acidity, point to the difficulties of the vintage. Drink 2006-2014.
