dark fruits, hawthorn flakes on the palate, quite subtle despite the alcohol of 14.9%, hint of black tea leaves, like the bouquet but the palate does not dance

Rating: 93/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 102, May/June 2002 Full red-ruby. Aromas of redcurrant, plum, raspberry, mocha and nuts, plus a suggestion of oatmeal. Dense and concentrated, with considerably more primary fruit character and freshness than the other two '98 Marcassin pinots. Finishes very long and ripely tannic.
