Wine Description

(1997 Vintage) Intense ruby color. Appealing nose of cherries, strawberries, and ripe plums. Smooth flavors of cherries, bittersweet chocolate, and vanilla oak with hints of coffee and clove. Drinks well now, yet loaded with depth for 10-15 years of additional aging.

(2001 Vintage) 13% Merlot; 7% Cabernet Franc; 4% Petit Verdot. While we find no fault with this bottling's very proper varietal themes of cherries, oak and herbs, the one wants for more volume, more range and more overall intensity to be much more than a clean but somewhat hollowed-out wine.
