The 1996 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a dark ruby color. It has a nose of black plums, rose petal and soy sauce. This wine is very complex and lively with an extremely long finish of fruit and spice. It will continue to improve through 2021 with proper cellaring.
Tasted by Zed57 on 2/28/2012: A well aged California cab. A distinctive nose that is intriguing. Bold herbaceous flavours that are classic silver oak with cedar and dill. May not be everyone's taste but I loved it. It has peaked. Don't wait. Wish I had more but alas this is the last.
International Wine Cellar(1999 Vintage) Rating: 89-92 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 102, May/June 2002. (with 8% cabernet franc, 6% merlot and 3% petit verdot) Rich, full nose combines roasted currant, cedar, spice box, chocolate mint, coconut and smoky oak, along with a lightly leafy quality. The lushest and fullest wine of this tasting, with the most harmonious combination of fruit and acidity. Dense but firm and nicely delineated. Finishes with fine, spreading tannins that coat the mouth and teeth.
