Château Montrose Saint-Estèphe 2ème Grand Cru Classé

Wine Description

Good depth of color and a tight and compact nose of dark black fruits and eucalyptus. Very generous fruit on the palate accompanied by fine, ripe tannins. A very good finish.

most balance nose among the 3. moss fruticose and sourness on the nose. still a little young on the aftertaste. can almost feel the dryness of the vines in the nose. interestingly a little strawberry at the end.

(2004 Vintage) Good ruby-red. Raspberry, black olive, smoke and game on the nose, with a hint of mint. Juicy, pure and sharply delineated; a classically structured if somewhat leaner vintage of Montrose with no shortage of material. Even if this is smaller-scaled than the 2005, it will still require a good decade of bottle aging.
