Wine Description
(1953 Vintage) Consistent notes except for cont'd softening of tannins with age; Med dark ruby w/amber edge; impressive nose; not too tannic; lovely Cabernet fruit; med.-full body; beautifully balanced, very ripe, almost sweet fruit; some of the leaness (esp. mid=palate) & hardness of the vintage but not austere, esp. for a Latour; long, complex, intense & elegant. Robert ParkerDeep garnet-brick in color, the nose is well developed, displaying dried berry, leather, vanilla pod and anise notes with a faint whiff of potpourri. The palate is wonderfully fleshy and opulent with velvety, approachable tannins and a long finish.
