1947 Chateau Lanessan Haut-Medoc

Wine Description

(From 2000 Vintage) A generous Lanessan, with a deep ruby/purple color and a classic nose of cedar, spice box, black currant, plum, and earth, the wine has sweet tannin, medium to full body, loads of concentration, and a long, layered finish, with light to moderate tannin.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 1996 Vintage) Lanessan is located in Cussac just south of Saint-Julien and opposite the big vineyard of Chateau Gruaud-Larose. The 1996 is an impressive effort, deep ruby with plenty of blackcurrant, spice box and cedar, quite savoury and long in the mouth. Great value.
