Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough

Wine Details

Wine Description

The 2011 Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc embodies the quintessential Marlborough style – full-flavored and medium-bodied with fragrant notes of peach, gooseberry and ripe tropical fruit, followed by freshly cut herb undertones. Showcasing a brilliant straw color, this elegant wine refreshes the palate with a long, clean finish.

Upon smelling the half bottle of this wine from some random strangers at the bar, a fragrant waft of a strawberry/apricot jam filled my nose. This was a very smooth bottle of red wine for the pallet and would be well worth the money if we had actually paid for it. Highly recommended and would go very well with a nice can of tuna and a cocker spaniel on your lap :)

Upon smelling the half bottle we received from nice strangers with the waft of a fruity strawberry/apricot jam concoction filled my nose. It is very smooth and well worth the price I would've paid if I didn't get it for free.

Excellent grapefruit on the nose. Tastes very, very Kiwi/Aussie. Great with triple creme.

(2007 Vintage) Bright, pale straw. Knockout nose combines lemon, lime, pear, melon, flowers, licorice and jalapeno, with a spicy ginger quality emerging with air. Then deep and fresh on the palate, with juicy pineapple and grapefruit flavors complicated by a hint of crystallized citrus peel. There's an element of varietally typical herbaceousness but this wine is ripe, balanced and long.
