Wine Description

(2014 Vintage) A mild winter brought February bud-break. Though there was some rainfall, the drought continued a third year, and warm summer weather prompted a fast-paced harvest. Twenty-six fermented lots were blind tasted for assemblage. Zinfandel yields were low, giving carignane and petite sirah greater prominence. Sensuous flavors support a rich tannin structure. This superb vintage will be enjoyable over the next 7-8 years.

One of the more ripe and decadent wines in the lineup, it has the mid-palate depth and concentration to evolve for 15+ years " -- 93 points, Natalie McLean said in Nov2015, "A towering, monumental Californian red wine from one of the state's most respected producers. Aromas of black fruit, dark spice and toasty oak. Pair with a rare steak . drink 016 to 019" --
