The Strength of this golden yellow wine is immediately pleasing to the nose while its complexity explodes on the palate. The initial notes of fruit are followed by more discreet aromas of brioche and vanilla when the wine is allowed to age in the bottle. Brut Carte Jaune offers a perfect balance of finesse and forcefulness.
Aromas of lemon, currant, clove and mint; slightly rustic. Then fresh and frothy, with a strong mousse. Distinctly floral suggestion of rose petal to go with the berry flavors. Rather lacy for a wine from this house; not as weighty as some past releases of this wine but boasts plenty of extract and a generous, firm finish.
This was absolutely delicious- served by my friend who is a wine director, who has been awarded the wine spectator cup several times. So you know it's gotta be good when one of the best wine curators in the world chooses to uncork a bottle with friends!
