The subtle, pale gold color of Taittinger Brut La Française is punctuated by extremely fine, persistent bubbles rising to the surface in fragile strands. The fragrant berry and white fruit aromas, underscored by toasty, yeasty notes are confirmed on the ample, elegant palate which is strongly marked by refined Chardonnay fruit flavors. A fresh, balanced acidity sustains the whole, and carries into a long, crisp toasty finish of great delicacy.
40% chardonnay, 35% pinot noir, & 25% pinot meunier. 3-4 years aged. Aromas of peach, white flowers, vanilla, and brioche. Fresh fruit and honey suckle on the palate. Fine, persistent bubbles.
Had for preTasting with Larry for Valentine's Day.

Decanter(1990 Vintage) Rating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. A powerful, earthy nose of nuts and yeast. An elegant, perfumed and balanced palate of cream, biscuits and nuts.
Decanter(1996 Vintage) Rating: 5/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Since I recommended this one last year it has continued to develop and improve. Still delicately textured with floral aromas to the fore, it's a soft, feminine style of rosé with light red berry fruit and an engagingly creamy mousse.
