J Vineyards & Winery Cuvee 20 Brut Russian River Valley

Wine Description

(NV Vintage)

The non-vintage J Cuvée 20 Brut gracefully opens up with crisp lemon peel, honeysuckle and delicate yeast aromas. Upon entry, these notes are followed by a mix of Fuji apple, grapefruit and a sweet hint of angel food cake. The acidity adds just enough liveliness and the citrus zest leads to a lingering, warm pear and lush finish. 49% Chardonnay, 49% Pinot Noir, 2% Pinot Meunier.

(NV Vintage) Straw-yellow hue; persistent effervescence. Pretty scents of lightly toasted bread, jammy fruit and hints of charred oak. Foamy on the palate with peach juice and a tart backing of white grapefruit. Tangy close with suggestions of sweet vanilla and cleansing lemon accents.

(NV Vintage) Yeasty, chalky lemony and crisp, all in the manner of J wines if a touch shy on full-blown champenization, this wine comes with a fair complement of medium-sized bubbles and sets its slight edge of palatal sweetness alongside energetic fruit that drifts into lemon and lightly vanilla-tinged notes. Try it alongside oriental flavored bites like rumaki or pork buns. - Charles Olken
