The Anna de Codorniu Cava Brut begins with pale straw yellow color in the glass, clean and brilliant. Fine bubbles with continuous beads and a persistent mousse. On the nose, it displays delicate aromas of tropical fruit such as pineapple as well as citrus, grapefruit and lime. On the palate it is soft with elegant citrus notes. Well balanced and refreshing.
The fruit aromas and flavors in this wine--red and yellow apples and pears, cooked and dried apples, toasted pears, and creamed bananas--creates drama. Yeastiness too is a factor with dough and baked brioche notes. The mouth is lighter and softer than the nose might suggest and there is a soft, lemon-pie note at the end.
芳醇な香りを立たせ魅惑するも、泡は数分経つと弱め。が、これまでのCAVAで一番バランスとれた一本。Dec 14th, 2013
5/8/2012: Salmon color. Very fine bubbles. Strawberry and raspberry and cotton candy notes in the nose. It's very light body. Tart. The tartness in the taste is actually very surprising considering the nose.
Great value wine. Easily should have a couple bottles on hand. Light and crisp. Nice with mild cheese. More sweet than dry but not overbearing. Red berry.
