Wine Description

(NV Vintage) With 40% of reserve wines, the blend offers a complex, voluptuous nose with notes of freshly baked brioche and the richness of toasted notes and sun-drenched fruits - mango, apricot and greengage plum- along with a touch of dried fruits, pistachio and almond. The meticulous selection of crus ensures the delicious and sophisticated harmony of this champagne.

tried at Rob/Nat Xmas dinner 2010 vs Ruinart Vintage 1998 - preferred the Heidsieck - good balance, fruit shining through, nice finish

Dubbed ldquo;Champagne Charlierdquo; by the wine press when he first marketed his Champagnes in the US in 1852, Charles Heidsieckrsquo;s name continues to live on in his full, round Champagnes. Winemaker Regis Camus now crafts the housersquo;s wines from more than 120 crus, with one-third of the production devoted to reserve wines. The wines showed better than ever this year, with a lot of vinous richness and depth from less aging. This is a robust wine with layered flavors of pain grille and dark-toned berry fruit. Deliciously rich, it finishes clean, for salmon sashimi.
