(From 2009 Vintage) Light, bright gold. Orange pith, pear and smoky lees on the fragrant nose. Rich, broad and fleshy but energetic, offering juicy orchard fruit flavors and notes of honeysuckle and buttered toast. Shows an exotic note of iodine on the sappy, persistent and smoky finish.
Expressive, yeasty aromas of apple, warm biscuits, toasted nuts, truffle and minerals. A rich, nutty midweight with enticing coffee, mushrooms and truffle notes. Smooth and harmonious, with a brisk framing acidity. Nicely balanced Champagne with good intensity and length.
tried at Rob/Nat Xmas dinner 2010 vs Ruinart Vintage 1998 - preferred the Heidsieck - good balance, fruit shining through, nice finish
a little sweeter than i anticipated but finishes dry
Complex with citrus, toast and mineral finish.
