(From 2013 Vintage) A Lodi Zinfandel at its finest, this wine showcases the style you've come to love and expect from 7 Deadly Zins. It offers fresh ground pepper and an array of spices, thanks to the 12 months in American oak. Dried fruit (cranberries and dates) on the mid palate, with a finish reminiscent to a slice of warm boysenberry pie. This is a great value Zin that satisfies every time.
(From 2012 Vintage) Crushed berry, soft oak and cigar box notes create a fragrant appeal that leaves you wanting more. This vintage shows explosive, concentrated fruit in the mouth, with plenty of acidity to balance the ripeness. Spice and black berry compote on the finish.
Drank over the course of a week. Held up well, as the week went on, the peppery flavors intensified. Good old vine zin.
dark and seductive this zinfandel is fantastic! the finish is surprisingly light, the whole wine is balanced.
It was not bitter. It was good. 3.25 points
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2004 Vintage) Extreme in its ripeness and never keen on well-defined fruit, this palate-coating effort offers up glimmers of dried grapes that are overlain with suggestions of smoke and tar. Very full in the mouth and rather viscous in feel, it will defy easy mealtime matching with food but will be liked by fans of full-blown Zins.
