Wine Description

(2013 Vintage) Very soft and smooth on the palate with a modest attack of sweet black cherry and black plum fruits. A slightly smoky note is prevalent in the background. Pleasant, but linear and not exceptional, with a short finish.

(2006 Vintage) Medium red. Vibrant strawberry and raspberry aromas offer superb clarity and intensity, with cinnamon and mace adding complexity. Utterly seamless and velvety, with deep, sweet red and dark berry preserve flavors and no obvious tannins. Turns even sweeter with air and takes on a spicy complexity. The wonderfully pure fruit carries through the long, juicy finish. This is awfully delicious right now.

(2004 Vintage) Rating: 89(+?) - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 126, May/June 2006 ($52; 15.4% alcohol; 50% new oak) Deep red with ruby tones. Raspberry, maraschino cherry and oak on the nose, with a very ripe, almost caramelly nuance. A rich, sweet fruit bomb, with strong maraschino cherry and sweet oak flavors supported by solid structure. A bit aggressive today, but then this was only bottled in early February. Strong juice, and a big boy.
