(From 2008 Vintage) Top notes of ripe plum, cranberry, bergamot and wood smoke. Cranberry and plum follow on the palate with cherry coming out with air. This is a wine that both deepens and broadens with airing. Primary aromatics are complimented by black tea, sage and leather, while in the mouth, dark berry and black tea develop. Texturally rich with fruit balanced by great acid and lively tannins. A wine to be enjoyed for all its precocious charm and as a celebration of life.
(From 2003 Vintage) The palate is greeted by bright, rich aromas of dark cherry, cinnamon and hard spices. A symphony of flavors opens with an overture of berry cobbler leading to deeper stone fruit. The broad and lush texture is supported by a backbone of acidic vitality. The typical 'Hirsch' tannins conduct the wine to a fresh, enduring finish. A great village wine that will prove irresistible. This wine can be drunk now or held for at least the next five years. It is a complete wine and fully representative of the site.
