International Wine Cellar(2000 Vintage) Rating: 90/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 103, July/August 2002 ( also bottled in May) Cool aromas of apple, mint, nutmeg and mace. Then larger-scaled, sweeter and rounder than the Forets, with more harmonious, enveloping fruit. Ripe, broad and long on the aftertaste. I suspect that Bernard would rate this a point lower than I have, for a slight lack of intensity and grip.
Burghound(2013 Vintage) Here the expressive nose mixes primarily floral notes with hints of citrus, pear, sea breeze and quinine along with a nuance of exotic fruit. There is a relatively soft, indeed even tender mouth feel to the lightly mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that display a touch of salinity on the delicious if slightly warm finish. This too should be approachable young if desired.
Wine Advocate(2013 Vintage) The 2013 Chablis 1er Cru Montmain has a detailed bouquet with cold flint and even blackberry-leaf scents that are beautifully defined. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a keen acidic thread, driving citric notes with a slight walnut tinge on the tensile, orange rind finish. This lingers long in the mouth and should age better than the Fôrets '13.
