Alamos Malbec shows the unique potential of this most Argentine of grapes. With a deep, dark violet color, the wine has a concentrated nose of black stone fruits with a touch of toast from light oak aging. The palate is full and round with black raspberry and currant flavors mixed with notes of vanilla and coffee. The finish is long and lingering with soft, sweet tannins.
A respectable $9 wine that's priced that way because it's hits the "No Respect" wine snob trifecta of: Argentinian + Malbec + Tempranillo . I'll be back for more.
Sweet and savory to the tip of the tongue, bitter with a furious bite at the end, kind of like a canine ripping a price of meat from the bone!
Dark beautiful color. Licorice, coffee, leather, cherry notes. Rather bitter, alcohol is a bit overpowering. Pleasant cheap wine overall.
Heavy berries, cherry, hint of chocolate. Moderate bitterness / tannins. Taste that on initial sip, heavy taste of fruits follow.
Smooth, but just a little bit of a metallic finish. Young tasting. Not bad for the price, but wouldn't go out of my way for more.
Not bad, but not particularly good. Sort of bland. Not a good pairing with tortilla chips. Try another kind next time.
Bold, only a light dry on the mouth finish, brighter red, virtually no sour and a hint of sweetness. $9 Costco
Pallet: High viscosity, full body, berry and cherry notes Nose: pungent, fruity yet acidic, chocolate hints
subtle and light, the wine saves its pepper for the finish. a hint of black currants as well.
Young, great color. Oak tones are balanced. Mid palate intense, fruity. Acceptable finish.
Dark cherry and blackberry with a long finish. Great with grilled veggies or on its own.
Malbec, Bonarda and Tempranillo - blacberry and plum flavor with layers of brown spices
good. benefits from a good breathing - better the next day my wife reports.
very fruity as it first hits the tongue, lovely subtle dry finish.
Got this at 1st ave wine store. Chatting with Natasha about job.
Very nice inexpensive everyday drinking red. Rich full bodied.
Spicy and light on fruit. Had it at Garrisons. Really good
Smooth, slightly fruity, leather, mushroom, lite tanin
Soft and smooth. Great taste for an evening snack.

Wine Spectator(2005 Vintage) Shows a saturated dark violet color; the nose offers cassis, mocha and clove, along with a strong suggestion of soil tones. It combines density and sweetness on the one hand, with gripping flavors of tobacco, dark berries, spices and minerals; a palate-staining finish dominated by sweet black and blue fruits.
