Domaine du Pégaü Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Cuvée Réservée

Wine Details

Wine Description

Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc doesn't get much better than this beauty from the incomparable Domaine Pegau. The 2016 ‘Cuvée Réservée Blanc is a blend of 60% Clairette, 20% Grenache Blanc, 10% Roussanne and 10% Bourboulenc from vines with an average age of 25 years that was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks. It exudes aromas and flavors of white flowers, yellow peach, dried apricot, Asian pear, Meyer lemon citrus and a lovely lingering note of honeysuckle on the mineral laden finish. This is a wonderfully well composed white Rhone blend that is neither flabby, nor lean. It is just right in the middle with an enveloping texture on a medium body that has grace and balance in all the right places.

  • International Wine Cellar
(2000 Vintage) Full ruby-red. Liqueur-like aromas of black raspberry, black cherry and licorice. Lush, fat and full in the mouth, with superb concentration and richness. A seamless wine with great Chateauneuf du Pape character. Complicating notes of tar and chocolate. Finishes with dusty, broad tannins and great persistence. This can be enjoyed now with the right dishes but should age gracefully.
