2015 vintage — open shelves parkade — 020 — twenty -- 2015 vintage -- Park Royal Jan2018, $45.00 -- BC Liquor Stores said in Jan2018, "The southern Okanagan is the spot to ripen this Rhone Valley varietal. The results are excellent with roasty intense aromas and fullness on the palate. From Black Hills this 2015 effort reflects an outstanding growing season that shows as rich fruit, meaty tones and the nobility of this grape as grown in our own backyard. Highly recommended" -- 88 points, Gismondi said in Nov2017, "Perfumed violets float atop a base of bacon fat, blueberries, lavender and cured meats in this full-bodied southern Okanagan syrah. Ample black peppercorns crackle throughout, as does a beam of freshness before ample spicy grainy wood kicks in. This is intense, concentrated and warm but with a spirited lift that works hard to counter the density. Best with a peppercorn steak and a splash decant now, or cellar for two to three years" -- 92 points, Natalie Maclean said, "Gorgeous depth and length on this BC Syrah -- even better after open one day. Aromas of blackberry, black plum and dark spice. Supple and layered. Pair with grilled lamb. " -- 92 points, Liam Carter Icon Wines said in Nov2017, "Fantastical concentration in this Black Sage Bench sourced Syrah with deep, black cherry and sensual, floral aromas on the generous nose and oak-kissed layers of black cherry, mint, pepper, tobacco and blood orange flavours on the smoky, fine tannin palate. Simply gorgeous. Drink '018-'025" -- 16.5 / 20 Richard Hemmings for Jancis Robinson said, "Baked fruit, like a currant pudding. Also has a lovely meaty character. A touch of rubbery reduction on the palate, but nothing too intrusive. Dry, savoury, milk chocolate finish. (RH)14% Drink '018-'023" --

twentythree -- 2015 vintage -- box in parkade -- 023 -- Direct Buy June2017, $62.00 -- Bordeaux blend, 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc -- 91 points, Gismondi said in Nov2017, "The 2015 is perhaps the best example of the new Nota Bene with is hedonistic rich fruit, brooding dense sweet tannins and powerful alcohol. The 17th vintage, like last year was given an additional six months of barrel and it looks good on it. The 56/38/6 blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc (all Oliver estate fruit) came in at 14.8 but it feels higher. Still super young with smoky, black cherry, cassis laden fruit and vanilla this is a monster Nota Bene that will need a full decade to settle into its groove" -- 94 points, John Schreiner said in June2017, "The richly dark colour and the generous 14.8% alcohol reflects a vintage that was among the warmest ever in the Okanagan. The wine begins with an enticing aroma of cassis and vanilla with hints of cherry and chocolate. The ripe flavours echo the cherry and cassis mingled with cedar, earthy minerality, leather and tobacco. The ripe tannins are firm but the texture is rich and elegantly polished. The wine is already approachable but will improve even more with time in the cellar – for at least to '25" --
