Pahlmeyer Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

Wine Details

Wine Description

2013 is the final vintage of the Pahlmeyer Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. However, beginning in 2012 we crafted a small amount of estate-grown Chardonnay from our Wayfarer vineyard on the extreme Sonoma Coast. Grown on six acres from our estate vineyard in the Fort Ross-Seaview appellation, this wine displays a rare aromatic intensity and buoyant acidity that reflects our site’s cool coastal influence. This final vintage of Pahlmeyer Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is brilliant light yellow in color with a wispy veil indicating its unfiltered character. On the nose, vanilla, orange blossom and sweet spices fill the glass, rimmed with notes of lightly toasted almond. The entry is a vibrant attack of honeysuckle, lemon pie and citrus candy, with an expressive structure persistent in the mid-palate. The robust richness is in balance with great acidity, showcased by a seductive creamy texture and fresh citrus notes.
