Almost 40 years ago, Tony Terlato discovered the Pinot Grigio grape and pioneered the category in the United States. Now, the Terlato family has introduced a new Pinot Grigio from the hills of Friuli Colli Orientali in Northeastern Italy, one that revolutionizes expectations for the grape. Bill Terlato spent several years visiting the most legendary vineyards with the goal of producing a revolutionary Pinot Grigio of exceptional and distinctive quality. Ultimately the Terlato family partnered with innovative agronomists and winemakers Marco Simonit and Pierpaolo Sirch. Simonit Sirch have established themselves as foremost viticulturalists, with expertise in a unique pruning technique focused on increasing the reflection of terroir in grapevines. They consult for over 130 top rated wineries around the world (including Chateau Latour, Domaine Leroy, Chateau d’Yquem, Anselmi, Nino Franco, Roederer and many more), but their home, heritage and family vineyards are in Colli Orientali dei Friuli. The goal is to craft the Grand Cru of Pinot Grigio. Terlato Vineyards Pinot Grigio is 100% Estate grown, farmed in small blocks, each with different soil compositions and expositions, with low yields and handcrafted winemaking. It showcases the best Friuli character: exceptional aromatics, complex and persistent flavors, and balanced acidity and texture. We invite you to taste the difference.
