(From «nv» Vintage) Beautiful pale-gold color with enticing aromas of lemon crFme, baking spices and some tropical fruit notes. The aromas carry through to the palate, and are joined by hints of tropical fruit, spiced baked pear, and a stony/mineral flavor that creates a stylish wine that seems part New and part Old World. Finishes long with just a kiss of oak. This Chard has a lot of flavor, but manages never to lose its balance. Pairs well with most fish, lobster, crab, chicken, and even many pork preparations. Particularly recommended with dishes using sautTed wild mushrooms or butter sauces.
Wine & Spirits(From 2003 Vintage) The St. Urbans-Hof 2004 Piesporter Goldtropfchen Riesling Auslese smells of pineapple, mango, banana, black currant, flowers, and honey. For all of its heady and gaudy tropicality and florality, in the mouth this wine displays startlingly lemony citrus and a crisp apple side to the fruit. All of the flowers and tropical fruits reprise in the finish along with mineral salts, fresh citrus, and black fruits. This wine combines a remarkable combination of verve and richness, ably representing the results of picking for an enormous concentration of tiny, largely unblemished berries in a grand cru site.
