Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2003 Vintage) Solidly varietal aromas of dried grasses and hay, melon and citrus are moderately rich and just a little on the pungent side. Slightly rounded yet also a touch narrow and pinched, the wine picks up a stony, minerally edge and closes with a hint of bitterness in its otherwise mildly fruity aftertaste.
