This wine is off-dry, with a full, strong body. Packed with acidity, this Riesling tastes and feels as rich and full as it smells. Electric petrol jumps out of the glass, followed quickly by honey and baked apple. Beneath these well-known Riesling aromas is a nearly Burgundian bouquet of mushrooms and leafy soil, as well as an earthy minerality. While the minerality in the nose is earthy, the minerality in the mouth is stony. The fruit is there, but the taste is more steely than fruity.
