Lemon peel and subtle floral notes on the nose. Bone dry, tight, clean. Deceptively subdued start that opens immediately in to a powerful citrus body that lingers beautifully.

(2004 Vintage) Pale gold. Deeply pitched aromas of smoked meat and black licorice; a tad blurry. Round, rich, supple and easygoing, with an attractive spicy character but modest grip. This wine fermented less well due to some rot, admitted Dirler, who added that "some of our pickers are better than others at eliminating rotten grapes in the vines, which is where it has to be done."
