Wine Description

The plum, boysenberry and raspberry fruit is very aromatic, carrying a glossy sheen as this glides along, picking up subtle anise, alder and tobacco notes slowly but steadily through the finish.

On the palate, the wine is suave, and polished, with a sensuous display of fresh, sweet, mineral driven cherries" -- 94 points, Wine Enthusiast -- 94 points, Wine Spectator said, "Offers a solid, packed feel, with dense plum sauce, licorice and blackberry preserve flavors, pushed by ganache and graphite details. Despite the dense and fleshy feel, there's serious purity here. A violet note mingles with a lightly chalky echo through the lengthy finish. A terrific effort for the vintage. A masculine, virile style of wine with an inky deep purple color, lots of crème de cassis and crushed rock and high tannin.     (2007 Vintage) Bright red-ruby. Black cherry, violet, licorice and minerals on the nose. Sweet on entry, then juicy and firm in the middle, with dense black fruit flavors showing excellent energy for the year. The pH of 3.65 is relatively low for St. Emilion 2007 but high by the standards of this property. Finishes with building, oak-powered tannins and excellent verve for the year. This vineyard was harvested in just four days during the second week of October.
