(2009 Vintage) Our 2009 Mountain Cuvee shows the appealing depth and nuance of a true Bordeaux blend. The aromas offer a complex mélange of spicy red fruit, rum raison, cedar, sweet tobacco, clove, cinnamon, dark chocolate and bay leaf. On the palate, the texture is smooth and lush, with lingering flavors of sweet cherry and plum. Though there is ample weight and richness, elegance is really the theme of this complex and balanced wine.
drank bottle opened day prior. still vibrant, typical mountain fruit, good tannins. needs a couple of years to soften a bit but drinking well now. 91 pts.
Young, fruit forward and not well balanced. I have had much better blends at this price point.
Wine Buyer(2007 Vintage) Vibrant aromas of blackberry, black cherry, dried fruit, and baking spices jump from the glass. In the mouth the wine is rich in dark fruit flavors, with hints of mocha and roasted coffee beans. Full, fairly big tannins are well integrated in the body and fruit character.
