On the palate, the bright cherry opens the show, then evolves into a lush, sweetly spiced plum pudding, coating the mouth with a velvety richness. The wine then develops an intense mineral note, adding yet another dimension, lending way to silky tannins and a lengthy finish.

The vineyard sites in the southern alluvial plains of Russian River Valley nearby the ocean, which results in cooling fog coming through the Petaluma Gap both in the morning and the evening, along with afternoon breezes, helping to soften the effects of the warm sun. The combination of the vigor rootstock and alluvial soil, stress control of the vines, and the cool coastal climate, create a long growing season with small, concentrated, flavorful berries.
Nose is bright cherry, cranberry, brown spice. On the palate, lots of cherry, then spiced plum. Strong and surprising mineral finish. Pair with duck, pork loin, beef brisket, Asian or slightly sweet dishes. Also asiago, manchego, Swiss cheeses.
