Wine Description

(2011 Vintage) Offers a spicy, persistent, Muscat-like edge, with green pear and subtle melon notes.

(2011 Vintage) Aromatics are the order of the day for this Napa Chardonnay, which speaks loudly of the cool climate, marine-influenced vineyard. Oaks take a lesser role in recent vintages, and we celebrate the fresh, crisp style that complements many foods by allowing less than a quarter of the wine to undergo malolactic fermentation. Bright fruits boasting of pear and green apple are accented with a bit of citrus zest and honey bell, balanced with a creamy brioche and touch of vanilla. We age the wine in mostly neutral French oak to enhance mouth feel. Fresh citrus flavors in this wine pair well with poached or grilled seafood, shrimp or crab with spicy aioli, baby greens tossed in citrus honey vinaigrette, avocados, fruit salsa, shaved fennel, tangerines and triple creme cheeses.

(2011 Vintage) ““This is a wine I love sharing with people because it’s the very definition of versatile. It’s wonderful on its own, with appetizers, or as an integral part of nearly any menu. The Su’skol vineyard is carefully farmed to emphasize fruit with wonderful acidity and balance, crisp and clean and clearly showing the impact of the moderate temperatures influenced by nearby San Pablo Bay. The multiple clones, including the aromatic musqué, result in a wine that shows aromas and flavors of apple, white pear and a slight touch of tropical fruits, accented by aromas of honeysuckle. We ferment only a small portion in new French Oak, and allow just a portion (28%) to undergo secondary fermentation, showcasing fruit and a round, rich mouthfeel from bâttonage over several weeks. There’s a reason Chardonnay is a popular wine, and this is it.”
