This elegantly crafted, balanced wine is marked by fine, pure, ripe blackberry and cassis flavors and aromas with notes of spice, cedar and discreet vanilla set in a silky texture supported by refined tannins.
The grapes used to produce this wine are from the best appellations in Napa Valley from the best growers. A list of our growers include: Sequoia Grove Estate vineyard, Tonella Estate vineyard, Stagecoach, Morisoli, Lamoreaux, Henry Brothers, Healy and Christian vineyard. Each site was harvested at its ideal brix, ranging between 24.9 and 29.4, and picked over the course of four weeks, from September 13th through October 18th. The fruit was hand sorted before undergoing a 1-2 day cold soak. The lots were individually fermented in small batches, with gentle pumpovers 2-3 times per day. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel, where it was aged for 20 months before being racked and bottled in August 2015.
