(2011 Vintage) Michele Chiarlo sources grapes from strictly selected Barbera vineyards with excellent exposure to produce a superb, balanced wine. The choice vineyards are in the southern area of Asti province, especially the hills around Nizza Monferrato.
Tasting notes: Medium bodied and robust with rich, ripe fruit on the nose and an elegant palate.Pairs well with chicken, mushrooms, pork and grilled or roasted red meats.
Fresh red cherry on the nose with hints of licorice. A medium-bodied Barbera with surprising length. Going really well with my Khar Saiko Kroeung (aka braised beef a la Cambodian)!!
Really nice and very drinkable. Fruity up front with mineral flavors that hang around until the next sip. Love it.
This baby packs a berry powered powered punch, but the herbs and dark mineral provide the grip and staying power.
Delicious! Smooth, balanced, 2010. Must buy this. Anniversary dinner at Vini Vidi Vici 2014
Binnys guy suggested as a good pairing to the red wine vinegar chicken. About $12.
Great barbera from the region known for it. Enough said.

Wine & Spirits(2005 Vintage) Rating: Good Value - As reviewed by Wine & Spirits Magazine on 12/07
Wine & Spirits(2007 Vintage) Chiarlo's 2006 Barbera d'Asti Superiore Le Orme is a delicious, fragrant Barbera. Made in a medium-bodied style, it offers notable harmony in its ripe red fruit, minerals and spices. Silky, refined tannins round out this terrific effort, which is a steal for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010.
