(2011 Vintage) This wine has flavors of black plum jam and ripe loganberries. Hints of oak and a touch of Christmas spice support the fruit. The cooler vintage created a finish with a classical, Old World structure.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2000 Vintage) 19% Merlot. Far and away the preferred bottling over its lesser mates below, Martini's Napa Valley version is a medium-deep, well-defined Cabernet that presents attractive cherry and cassis themes with a helpful dollop of creamy oak. Its nicely measured tannins will support a bit of time in the cellar, and three or four years of age will find it at its peak.
