Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2005 Vintage) A tighter and less-polished wine than either of its pricier mates, Laetitia's Reserve Pinot Noir puts a fine first foot forward with its very clean, buoyantly fruity, oak-sweetened aromas but is a bit frontal in taste and nipped at the finish by an edge of heat and overly obvious acids. It too will improve if held for aging, but it never shows the compelling depth that makes future beauty a foregone conclusion.
International Wine Cellar(2005 Vintage) Medium red. Spicy red and dark berry aromas are impressively vibrant, with gentle oak spice adding complexity. Brisk and sharply focused, offering fresh raspberry and blackberry flavors and zesty minerality on the close. Shuts down a bit with air, with the acidity becoming more pronounced. I'd hold this for a few more years.
