Dry Creek Vineyard Merlot Dry Creek Valley

Wine Details

Wine Description

(2001 Vintage) Fragrant bouquet of cherry, berry, and cedar is laced with hints of mint and rose. Black cherry-chocolate fruit pairs with sweet plum, currant, and blackberry flavors followed by cinnamon-clove accents. Tightly structured fruit and vanilla oak completes the tantalizing finish.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(2005 Vintage) 9% Cabernet Franc; 7% Cabernet Sauvignon; 6% Malbec. An underplayed note of cherryish fruit sits behind overt elements of tobacco and dried herbs in the nose here, and, while reasonably ripe, the wine never quite finds full fruity focus in the mouth. It runs into grabby tannins and dries out as it goes but is sure to soften a bit with age.
